CHAPTER VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION

  

 

OUR MISSION        

·        To stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime.

 

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

·        Help keep our communities and roadways safe.

·        Raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving (drinking and / or drugs).

·        Raise funds for your local Chapter.

·        Distribute red ribbons - ask for a donation.

·        Distribute free promotional items (i.e., pencils, magnets, red ribbons, stickers, literature, resource materials, etc…).

 

COMMITMENT                                                                                                                    

·        Variable (generally September – January each year).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: KEY TASKS / ACTIVITIES       

·        Attend community events (as requested) and staff displays / booths / tables.

·        Actively seek, investigate and promote opportunities to distribute and display red ribbon materials (i.e., coin boxes, red ribbons, bookmarks, posters, stickers, etc...) within the community.  Target local businesses, schools and various community groups.

·        Encourage local businesses and groups to display and distribute red ribbon materials / resources (i.e., coin boxes on counter tops, red ribbons on car antennas at dealerships, red ribbons in pay stub envelopes, etc…).

·        Encourage local business to fundraise on behalf of the Chapter and Project Red Ribbon (i.e., penny / money drive at a local dealership, dress red on Fridays, etc…).

·        Encourage / solicit donations from local businesses.

·        Drop off / distribute red ribbon boxes within your community (as requested).

·        Pick up red ribbon boxes within your community (as requested).

·        Participate in your local Project Red Ribbon launch (if available).

·        Participate in Chapter organized fundraisers (i.e., grocery packing day).

·        Distribute free promotional items, literature and resource materials.

·        Be knowledgeable about MADD Canada’s policies, programs and services.

·        Promote the Chapter positively within your community.

·        Promote volunteer opportunities within your Chapter.

ORIENTATION

·        You will receive an Orientation Guide and might be asked to attend an Orientation Session (from / by your local Chapter).

 

TRAINING

·        You will be supported and trained by a committee chair / committee member / board member and / or the Chapter Administrative Assistant.
