CHAPTER VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION

  

 

OUR MISSION        

·        To stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime.

 

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

·        Help keep our communities and roadways safe.

·        Raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving (drinking and / or drugs).

·        Distribute free promotional items (i.e., pencils, magnets, red ribbons, stickers, literature, resource materials, etc…) to community members at community events (i.e., health fairs, mall displays, school displays, restaurants / bars-breathalyzer project).

 

COMMITMENT

·        Variable.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: KEY TASKS / ACTIVITIES

·        Attend community events (as requested).

·        Educate community members / groups about the dangers of impaired driving; provide tips and talk about MADD Canada’s prevention and education programs (i.e., Project Red Ribbon campaign, multi-media shows, R.I.D.E. / Sobriety Checkpoints, etc…).

·        Distribute free promotional items, literature and resource materials.

·        Be knowledgeable about MADD Canada’s policies, programs and services.

·        Promote the Chapter positively within your community.

·        Promote volunteer opportunities within your Chapter.

ORIENTATION

·        You will receive an Orientation Guide and might be asked to attend an Orientation Session.

 

TRAINING

·        You will be supported and trained by a committee chair / committee member / board member and / or the Chapter Administrative Assistant.
